Strategic Communications, Mission 2020
Matthew coordinates Strategic Communications for Mission 2020, Christiana Figueres’ new global campaign, which seeks to unite all actors to bend emissions downward by 2020. Matthew has worked as an Advisor at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to support the Global Climate Action Agenda during key intergovernmental moments, including the landmark Paris Agreement. He is also a Co-founder of Beautiful Corporations, a sustainability engagement agency whose most recent clients include UNPRI, CDP, WMB, and Bristol City. Matthew’s main area of expertise is engaging businesses, investors, and others, to demonstrate their leadership in driving the transition to a low-carbon economy, in line with 2 degrees Celsius. He has written for a number of publications, such as for the Guardian and the Huffington Post; and makes short videos, including Climate Gentleman (featured in the Observer).
